Our Story

Richard Cox founded Cox Pools in Birmingham, Alabama in 1955. Richard was the first to bring gunite pool construction from California to Alabama. Cox Pools opened offices in Dothan, AL, Panama City FL, and built thousands of gunite swimming pools, both commercial and residential.

Gordie Robinson bought the Birmingham operation of Cox Pools from Richard Cox in 1991. Under Gordie’s leadership Cox Pools continued to build the highest quality commercial and residential gunite swimming pools.

Dan Yoe, owner of Dan Yoe Swimming Pools, Inc., joined the team in 2000. He brings outstanding pool design and building expertise, which shows in our work.

Allen Corey joined Cox Pools, LLC in 2008. Allen brings project management, quality process, and financial management expertise to the team.

Our management team brings together business, construction and design expertise. The team approach allows each member of the team to focus on their particular area and deliver an exceptional product. This management structure is unique to the swimming pool business and offers many benefits to our swimming pool construction customers.
